What to expect
About the Treatment Sessions
I offer a ³fusion² style of massage, blending techniques from Eastern and Western traditions. For the traditional Swedish/Esalen style relaxation massage, I work on a table using sheets for covering my clients and lotion as a lubricant when necessary. For Reiki and Thai massage, the client remains fully clothed and no lubricants are used. Reiki involves the client lying on their back for the duration of the session while a series of hand positions are used to balance their energy. Thai massage clients should wear a loose T-shirt and long leggings or sweat pants that they can easily move in such as what you would wear to do yoga. I have now adapted Thai massage to the table, which allows for a more fluid sequence of stretches than the floor-based style. Blankets, eye pillows, and bolsters are always available for your comfort.
By keeping talking to a minimum during the session you can find a deeper level of relaxation. However, some people like to talk during their session. The time is yours and I leave it up to you. Always feel free to offer feedback on the amount of pressure, of if you¹d like me to adjust the temperature of the room or change the ambient music.
Please refrain from wearing perfume on your massage days as a courtesy to others.
Ethical Considerations
Clients under the age of 16 must provide written consent from their parent or guardian.
The relationship between the therapist and client is strictly professional. I aim to treat my clients with courtesy and respect, and expect the same in return.
Any remarks or gestures made by the client and interpreted by the practitioner as harassment or sexually suggestive will result in the immediate termination of the session, and the client will be liable for full payment of the scheduled appointment.
Although I may describe possible therapeutic benefits of your treatment, I will never claim to cure or guarantee recovery. I cannot diagnose medical conditions.
If your care needs exceed my professional capacity, training and competence, I may refer you to a more qualified person where appropriate.
All client information and records are kept in strict confidence.
Hours of Operation
I work by appointment only.
Cancellation and Late Arrival Policies
I require 24 hours' notice for cancelled appointments. If you don¹t show up for your appointment, you are still responsible for 100% of your scheduled session's fee. If you have a schedule that changes frequently which may require cancellation, you have the option of paying me in full in advance for your next session to avoid the cancellation fee.
Clients who arrive late are responsible for payment in full for their scheduled session, and will receive a prorated session. For example, if you schedule an hour session and arrive 15 minutes late, you will still be charged for an hour session but will receive a 45 minute massage.
