CHAIR MASSAGE

I provide onsite seated massage, also called chair massage, to offices, parties, and many other group gatherings.

There are several ways you can enjoy chair massage in your location:

Office and Corporate Settings

  Employer Sponsored

The employer hires me by the hour to provide seated massage to their employees. Employees can then sign up for 10-15 minute sessions as they wish. This is a great thing to do for employee appreciation days, as an incentive to reach targets and goals, and for celebrations of company milestones.

Employee Pays

The other way to bring chair massage into the workplace is to have the employees pay directly for the massage. They sign up in increments of 10, 15, 20 or 30-minute sessions and pay the therapist directly. This costs the employer nothing but everyone enjoys the benefits of increased productivity and decreased stress.

Parties and Social Gatherings

The host hires me by the hour to provide chair massage to their guests, as needed. Depending on the number of people attending, sessions might range from 10-20 minutes each. This is a nice way to do something different and healthy for your guests.

How Does Chair Massage Work?

Seated massage is performed on a person who is sitting erect in a specially designed massage chair. It is performed through the clothing and does not use oils or lotions. The client does not disrobe. The massage addresses the back, neck, shoulders, arms, wrists and hands. Virtually everyone can benefit from chair massage.

The chair takes just a few minutes to set up and requires a minimum of physical space so it can be done in spare offices, conference rooms, lobbies--just about anywhere.

Chair massage is not a substitute for table massage but it makes massage practical, convenient and efficient. Because the sessions are shorter than a typical table massage session, an employee can get a chair massage on their lunch hour and still have time for lunch!

Benefits

Research shows that receiving a 15-minute chair massage can decrease job stress, increase alertness, and increase speed and accuracy. Less stress results in fewer visits to the doctor, lower costs in medical and disability payments and less money paid out in lost productivity. Regular chair massage reduces absenteeism and retains employees who might otherwise leave due to stress. Offering regular onsite massage can also help enrich corporate culture.

Employees will experience less tension and pain, and massage can help prevent and relieve repetitive strain injuries. When they go back to their job feeling refreshed, they will experience improved problem solving and creative thinking, benefiting the health of the whole company.

What to Expect

I will arrive about 20 minutes before the appointed start time for massages and set up my chair and supplies. We will decide what order people will be seen in (many offices use a sign up sheet to determine the order).

After introducing myself to each client I will screen them for any aspects that could complicate the procedure, such as having recent heart surgery or uncontrolled diabetes. Pregnant women will also want to avoid getting a chair massage. I will also ask if they have any areas of tension that they want me to pay particular attention to.

I will help settle the person into the chair and adjust their position as necessary. As the massage begins I will ask for feedback about the amount of pressure, and adjust it as needed.

I supply everything but the space. I bring a high quality massage chair and sanitation supplies for cleaning the chair and my hands between each person. Disposable face rest covers are changed between each client. I also bring a portable CD player to play relaxing music, if desired. I am fully licensed and insured, adhere to a strict code of ethics, and will be dressed in business casual attire.
